The Wedding Outfit
Oh, thank Bob - I've got my wedding outfit sorted.
I tried on hundreds of dresses and ended up with a shift shape - mushroom satin covered in black lace with a beige lacey coat to go over it. A very classic look funked up with some black Monsoon wedge sandals, a black frou frou "hat", a gorgeous little black bag that Dons has lent me (which may well get a corsage pinned to it) and some unusual bracelets.
All I need to sort now are some pants of steel to go under the frock, choose the nail varnish (had a pedicure last Friday, thanks to Roxy) and think about the makeup.
Hair kept simple I think - went to Tony and Guy's last week so it's looking OK.
I am sooo excited! I've never been a "best woman" before. I really don't want to let her down. I've talked her all through the day and we've ironed out some wrinkles.
The only cloud on the horizon is the fact that her Dad is dying and he's determined to walk her down the aisle. He should have traveled up to Scotland on Tuesday but ended up in hospital instead. It's touch and go whether he'll get there and if he'll manage to "give her away".
So she's being torn in two - part of her is deliriously happy that she's marrying the man she loves to pieces and the other part is worrying about her dad dying. A strange space for her to be in.
Gotta go - starting work .............

your outfit sounds gorgeous - will we see pics? I hope so.
Not so sure about pants of steel though.....
What a difficult time for your friend - I do hope her Dad makes it, for both their sakes.
